What is Data Intelligence?
How NexDiscovery learns your data before it looks for money.
Short answer
Data Intelligence is how NexDiscovery learns what your approved data means and how your systems relate to each other. It connects read-only, resolves the same real-world entity across your sources, and notes data gaps, so every finding traces back to source records.
Key takeaways
- Access is read-only and limited to the fields agreed for the engagement.
- The same customer, account, or entity is matched across systems using your own identifiers.
- Data gaps are noted and shown with the finding.

Why learning the data comes first
The most valuable signals can live between the systems you choose to connect. To find them, the discovery engine has to know that a record in your CRM and a record in your billing system describe the same customer. Without that, cross-system search is guesswork.
What Data Intelligence does
- Connects read-only. You choose which systems and data sources are connected. Access is limited to the fields agreed for the engagement.
- Resolves entities across sources. The engine matches the same real-world entity using shared keys, account identifiers, customer numbers, domains, and tax or registration IDs. Where keys are inconsistent, it uses fuzzy matching.
- Notes data gaps. Where the data is incomplete or inconsistent, the gap is recorded and shown with the finding.
Why it matters for findings
Every finding is validated against the underlying records within the approved scope and scored for confidence. Findings you can verify independently are the only ones that ship. Learning the data first is what makes that possible.
What you need to provide
Read-only access to your priority systems, agreement on field scope with your security and data teams, and people who can confirm what key terms mean. The data readiness checklist lists what to bring.
